#BuhariGate: What Nigerians Are Saying About Buhari
The N2 billion arms deal investigation took a twist yesterday, December 15 as President Muhammadu Buhari was accused of receiving the sum of $300,000 and two SUVs from the embattled former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki.
President Buhari launched a panel to probe the disappearance of billions of dollars meant for the procurement of arms from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Dasuki is being investigated over the procurement of arms in the armed forces from 2007 to 2015 and he has been implicating top politicians and prominent people.
In the last weeks, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Department of State Services have arrested over 20 public figures who served under the immediate past administration of Goodluck Jonathan over the alleged $2 billion arms deal scam.
Reacting to reports that Buhari got money from the former NSA, Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media said the president only got SUVs from the previous administration after an attack on him in Kaduna, which according to him was mandated by the Nigerian law for every former head of state.
He denied receiving any money from Dasuki.
However, Nigerians have started reacting to the report. Some are wondering while Buhari collected two SUVs from a government that his party tagged as corrupt. Some others are saying the president had a right to the cars.
